Winchester, Kentucky


The Winchester, KY plant was opened for operation in 1965 and is situated on 18 acres 20 miles east of Lexington. Gate Precast acquired this facility in 1996. The 30,000 square foot enclosed production floor offers all-weather casting ability for an annual output capability of 520,000 square feet of architectural precast product.  Gate Precast gives flexibility and freedom to architectural design by having the ability to produce multiple finishes including, water blast, sandblast, acid wash, patterns, brick, and faux finishes with various engineered design types of products such a conventional or insulated, prestressed or non-prestressed, load bearing or non-load bearing precast. Gate provides early-stage design assistance at no cost to the customer and delivers product throughout the South Central and Midwest portion of the United States.  The facility utilizes an overhead crane system, supported by a hydraulic tilt-table, two 40-ton Mi-jacks, and a Lima 75-ton lattice boom which allows flexible handling and storage of various product designs. Gate Precast in Kentucky is noted for producing all phases of the Chicago’s McCormick Convention Center, which is the largest convention center in North America, Indiana University Memorial Stadium North End Zone, (Bloomington, IN) and Patient Care Facility at UK Hospital. The plant has been OSHA S.H.A.R.P. Certified since 2011, and is PCI (A1, C3 and C3A) Certified.
