Gate Precast has 64 BIM technicians who are trained in Revit Structure. All projects are modeled in BIM.
Gate Precast Company has taken the lead in the precast concrete industry to ensure its engineers and draftsmen receive the necessary tools and training to stay ahead of the growing use of BIM among Architects and Engineers. Gate employs 15 registered Professional Engineers along with 10 registered Engineering Interns and 64 BIM technicians who are trained in Revit Structure. Gate has 11 engineering offices — one at each production facilities plus offices in three satellite locations.
Gate has been using Building Information Modeling since 2008, modeling millions of square feet of product since that time. Today, all Gate’s projects are modeled in BIM and have been since 2011. Our ultimate goal is to eliminate (or at least, greatly reduce) installation and design conflicts within the major systems of building. Important aspects of 3D Coordination are Clash Detection, Priority of Systems, Coordinating the Installation of Systems in the Field, Zero Conflicts and the Reduction in Field Issues and Field RFIs.
"BIM has proven to be a great asset for Gate Precast, and we have seen great benefits in coordination with designers in the Design Assist process as well as coordination with other trades during shop drawing development and construction. We have also developed efficiencies in detailing, improved visualization with manufacturing and construction crews, and detected and avoided potential clashes. Gate intends to remain on the leading edge of this ever-evolving technology."
