Social Security Administration Building

Birmingham, AL

Project Details: As a replacement to the early 1970s Social Security Administration (SSA) building, the new 587,000 square foot office building was designed with the surrounding neighborhood in mind. Environmentally friendly construction and energy measures were included in the design. Brick inlay architectural precast concrete panels with limestone finish precast accents were used on the facade of the eight-story building.

The $100 million campus achieved Silver LEED certification.

Completion: August 2008
