TCU Worth Hills Parking Garage

Fort Worth, TX

Texas Christian University chooses precast embedded with thin brick on parking garage to match the existing brick blend used on the campus and ensures speed for incoming students' use.

The six-level, 391,400 sf parking garage provides 1,199 parking spaces for students. For student safety, the design is open on all sides and is well-lite. Signs of solving the overcrowding issue are evident at the new development as the construction of Greek houses is under way. The garage was constructed on a tight site due to surrounding construction and was built over an active creek which adds a nice feature to the garage's landscape.

The key design challenge for the project was matching the existing campus look with respect to colors, brick patterns and textures. The project seamlessly matches the neighboring Amon Carter Stadium East Phase, which Gate Precast also produced, and other campus buildings. The embedded thin brick architectural precast panels are comprised of a three-brick blend of buff, beige and cream.
